Air

The Sidney Municipal Airport was recognized by the Nebraska Department of Aeronautics as its 1998 Nebraska Airport of the Year for its operation, progress and community support. It is located approximately 1 mile south of Sidney. The runway is 100’ by 6’, 600’ paved, which will enable jet aircraft to land. A crosswind grass runway is also in place. The elevation at the airport is 4,300 feet. Latitude is 41 degrees, 6 minutes; longitude is 102 degrees, 59 minutes. Sidney Aviation provides a fixed base operation, a pilot’s lounge, fuel, maintenance and repair, private lessons and courtesy car. Its normal hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., but before or after hour service can be provided by appointment. Phone number is 308-254-5668. An FAA approved aviation and maintenance college was established at the airport in 1997 through Western Nebraska Community College.

Shuttle, Van, and Bus

The Sidney Public Transportation can take you anywhere within the city limits. Call 254-7070, preferably 24 hours in advance.

Denver Coach offers door to door shuttle service. Call (308) 632-8400 or
800-658-3125 . It services Western Nebraska to Denver, DIA, Cheyenne, Lincoln, Omaha, and points between.

AmeriStar Coach offers charter coach service, nation wide, local travel services, custom tours, crew and employee transportation.

Motor

Sidney is served by the east-west Interstate-80 going from New York to San Francisco; intercontinental US 385 that stretches from Canada to Mexico; US Highway 30 that runs from coast to coast and State Highway 19 that connects Sidney to the Colorado front range. Many industries and transportation outlets have selected Sidney as a major east-west and north-south route.
